Tak Boleh Diwakilkan, Ahok hadiri Rakornas Undangan Jokowi

Ahok Agrees the 2015 Jakarta UMP Rp 2.7 Million

Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama agrees to the recommendation given on the 2015 Jakarta Province Minimum Wage (UMP) in the amount of Rp 2.7 million. Previously, two recommendations were submitted by Jakarta Wage Council, namely Rp 2,693,764.40 proposed by the entrepreneurs and Rp 3,574,179.36 demanded by the labors.

I choose the recommendation that is in accordance to the standard cost of living (KHL), and round up to Rp 2.7 million

“The verbal has not come to me yet, but the recommendation has. I have agreed, but still need the verbal. I choose the recommendation that is in accordance to the standard cost of living (KHL), and round up to Rp 2.7 million,” stated Ahok, Friday (11/14).

According to him, a governor decree must first be issued to set the UMP. The administration process for it is quite long enough, but is already being handled by City Secretary, Saefullah.

Noodle and Coffee Disturb KHL Determination

Ahok also realized that the amount of Jakarta UMP is lower than Bekasi UMP that reaches Rp 2.954 million. But, he stressed that Jakarta UMP is not based on other region’s UMP, but based on the KHL set by the Wage Council after doing market research.

“I don’t care what the environment looks like. The important thing is how much the KHL. There is a formula to calculate the UMP,” he said.

About the labors who threatened to close the toll road if their demand was not fulfilled, Ahok handed over the matter to the police.

“That is police’s business. I don’t want to involve,” he asserted.
