East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency holds rabies vaccination at RPTRA Payung Tunas Teratai in Cipayung, from Monday (5/3) to Wednesday (5/5).

Cipayung Sub-district KPKP Unit Head, Risa Maurina conveyed, rabies vaccination was carried out at RPTRA Payung Tunas Teratai, Cipayung, because it has a very large parking area and space. Thus residents who will vaccinate their pets can keep a safe distance from each other according to health protocol.

"Our target is to vaccinate 100 animals per day from 8 urban villages in Cipayung," she mentioned.

In this year, Cipayung Sub-district is targeting total 500 animals for rabies vaccination. But usually, it can reach 700 animals, because this program is free of charge. Besides, many residents who raise pets, such as dogs, cats, and monkeys.

Before the vaccination, RPTRA Payung Tunas Teratai Administrator, Ika Ayu Nurjanah mentioned, her side has socialized and informed local residents about this rabies vaccination in various social media platforms, such as IG, Twitter, WhatsApp groups, and others.

Residents who want to vaccinate their pets should bring photocopy of their ID card, pen, and pet passport. In addition, her side also advised them to bring water, pet waste bags, and harness for their pets.

"Because of pandemic, we expect everyone to comply with health protocol. Elderly and children are not allowed as pet's companion because they are prone to be exposed to COVID-19," she said.
