KPKP Collaborates with PT. PJA to Hold Rabies Vaccination for Stray Cats in Ancol

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Agency collaborates with PT. Pembangunan Jaya Ancol (PJA) Tbk. to give rabies vaccination to stray animals in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol area.

This activity is a form of collaboration with stakeholders to maintain Jakarta as Rabies-Free City and make Jakarta to be Animal-Friendly City

Jakarta KPKP Agency Acting Head (Plt), Suharini Eliawati informed, this activity also carried out through collaboration with Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (PDHI), Radhiyan Pet Care, and stray animal lovers communities, namely The Cathy and Friends and Republik Guguk.

"This activity is a form of collaboration with stakeholders to maintain Jakarta as Rabies-Free City and make Jakarta to be Animal-Friendly City," she mentioned, Thursday (4/22).

424 Animals in Thousand Islands Receive Rabies Vaccination

In this activity, there were 50 stray cats vaccinated today. It was an effort to maintain Jakarta free from rabies and make Jakarta to be Animal-Friendly City.

"Gradually, all stray cats in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol will be vaccinated against rabies. This collaboration will continue in the future to solve problem related to stray cats in recreational destinations in Jakarta," she explained.

PT. PJA Tbk. Vice President Corporate Secretary, Agung Praptono appreciated and welcomed the collaborative activity to hold rabies vaccination to stray cats in Ancol.

"Ancol as an open space with area of 200 hectares is comfortable place for stray animals, especially cats," he added.

Through collaboration between Jakarta Government and stakeholders, he hopes it can be a beginning and role model to make Jakarta and Ancol to be animal-friendly place as well as free of rabies.

"We also want to educate people to care about animals by paying attention to their health," he said.

For information, this vaccination activity was ended with Communication, Information, and Education (KIE) which packaged with NGOPI (Share and Discussion) event with PT. PJA Tbk. Commissioner, Geisz Chalifah; KPKP Agency Plt, Suharini Eliawati; and PDHI Chairperson, Widiastuti with theme 'Maintaining DKI Jakarta as Rabies-Free CIty and Making Jakarta as Animal-Friendly City'.

On that occasion, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed as a symbol of collaboration in implementing rabies control and other activities related to livestock and animal health with tagline #JakartakotaKolaborasi.
