As many as 50 Satpol PP personnel demolished tens of illegal huts along the West Flood Canal (KBB), Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Monday (11/17). Those huts are demolished because they hampered the construction of inspection road which currently underway.
The demolition went smooth. We also picked up two carts because the street vendors were selling on sidewalk
Since socialization had been done prior to the demolition, there is no protest from the hut owners. The demolition itself is related to river normalization program which done vigorously by Jakarta Provincial Government.

“The contents are confiscated for a week. The street vendors could redeem their wares as long as they promised would no longer selling on sidewalk,” asserted Rusmayadi.
