The ranks of Satpol PP personnel assisted by Central Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department tore down 41 illegal huts stood atop the drain and sidewalk alongside Jalan Bonang until Jalan Proklamasi, Menteng Sub-District, Sunday (9/21).

The demolishment runs smoothly without protest from building owners. After demolishment process, personnel were transporting building debris using five trucks owned by Jakarta Cleanliness Department and Satpol PP to be destroyed.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), there is no protest from building owners, considering we had done socialization about demolishment plan," said Head of Menteng Sub-District, Bondan Dyah Ekowati.

"Demolishment is conducted to restore the function of sidewalk as pedestrian facility," she explained.
