Here is Air Quality Condition in Jakarta during Eid

Jakarta's air quality on Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri has shown a decreasing trend for carbon monoxide (CO) parameters. It is because of reduced transportation activities in Jakarta.

The last four years from 2016 to 2020 have shown a downward trend for CO parameters

Jakarta Environmental Agency Acting Head, Syaripudin said the CO concentration showed a relatively small number, especially on the day before Eid and met the Quality Standard (<7 ug/m3).

"The last four years from 2016 to 2020 have shown a downward trend for CO parameters yet it tends to be stable for NO2, SO2 and 03 (Ozone) parameters," he expressed, Friday (5/14).

He added that there was an increase in the concentration of PM 2.5 and PM 10 during Eid. PM 2.5 and PM 10 are particulates measuring <2.5 microns and <10 microns and PM 2.5 are pollutants that come from anthropogenic and natural sources.

"There is an increase in the concentrations of PM 2.5 and PM 10. PM 2.5 is a pollutant originating from anthropogens such as industry, transportation, and nature. Perhaps, the activity ahead of Eid al-Fitr in Jakarta will increase, causing PM 2.5 and PM 10 to also increase," he explained.

As for the information, the Environmental Agency monitors its six air quality monitoring stations (SPKU), namely HI Roundabout (DKI-1), Central Jakarta for the roadside designation; Kelapa Gading (DKI-2), North Jakarta for residential designation; Jagakarsa (DKI-3), South Jakarta for residential designation; Lubang Buaya (DKI-4), East Jakarta for residential designation; Kebon Jeruk (DKI-5), West Jakarta for residential designation; and one mobile SPKU unit.
