City Uses Data Warga Application to Monitor Newcomers

Jakarta Government through Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Agency uses website-based application called "Data Warga" to record data of residents who return to Jakarta from their hometown or newcomers.

Today, RT/RW administrators have started collecting data

This application provides access to urban village officials, especially RT/RW administrators to collect data of residents in their region.

Jakarta Dukcapil Agency Acting Head (Plt), Budi Awaludin stated, RT/RW heads should register first at datawarga-dukcapil.jakarta.go.id to input residents data into Data Warga application.

The purpose of collecting residents data through Data Warga is to find out the exact number of Jakarta residents who are going home and coming to Jakarta. Jakarta Dukcapil Agency has also added special column in the application, such as date of departure from Jakarta and date of returning to Jakarta.

"Today, RT/RW administrators have started collecting data. There are 29,600 active users in Data Warga application up to this day. Jakartans who are returning to Jakarta will be recorded to find out number of Jakartans who return to hometown (mudik). There are also additional column for evidence in form of antigen swab or PCR," he stated, Saturday (5/15).

He explained that antigen or PCR swab test results are needed to ensure health conditions of newcomers and Jakartans who are returning from mudik. Thus local RT/RW administrators can take anticipatory measures in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission.

"If PCR or antigen test result is positive or reactive and they have COVID-19 symptoms, local RT/RW can follow it up by bringing in health workers from local health center to check them. If they are positive, they will be isolated. While if they don't have symptoms, we can refer them to be treated at Wisma Atlet. But if they have symptoms, we will refer them to hospital. PCR test will be given if their antigen swab test result is reactive," he mentioned.

He encouraged mudik travelers and newcomers to voluntarily register themselves at Data Warga application through local RT/RW. Because this application is very useful for controlling residents who are returning from mudik and make people in the neighborhood to feel more comfortable.

"By collecting residents data through Data Warga, it allows local RT/RW and urban village administrators to monitor their residents. Including, if there are symptoms, action can be taken immediately. Apart from preventing COVID-19 transmission, they can also find out newcomers' intent and purpose of coming to Jakarta," he closed.
