Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan stated, his side together with Forkopimda agreed to tighten mobilization of people who entering Jakarta to prevent increase in active cases of COVID-19 after Eid holiday.
"We hold coordination meeting to anticipate spike in Eid backflow. We all realize that whenever there is a large population movement, then in the following weeks there is always a potential for increase in active cases. In conclusion, first, there will be two tightening steps. First is to do screening at every entrance to Jakarta and even Jabodetabek. Then, for private vehicles, random screening will be carried out for those who enter (Jakarta)," he said as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.
719 Vehicles Without SIKM are Not Allowed to Enter JakartaMoreover, he also explained that every public vehicles, planes, ships, and trains have carried out random antigen screening upon departure. Thus preventive measures can be more effective if there is mobilization of people who enter Jakarta and are potentially exposed to COVID-19 (people without symptoms).
Besides, controlling measures will be carried out in neighborhood by collecting travelers data. Regarding this matter, he had instructed each COVID-19 task forces at RT/RW, urban village, sub-district, Babinkamtibmas, and Babinsa levels to collaborate in collecting data on residents or travelers who enter their areas.
"So, they will monitor people who have returned by checking their condition to ensure they are healthy, don't have COVID-19 symptoms, and take rapid antigen test. Thus, there are two layers for screening, before entering the area and when arriving at their residence. Later we will have special application that will be used by RT/RW heads to report twice a day regarding conditions in their regions," he mentioned.
He hopes layered coordination from RT/RW level to provincial level can run in sync. Furthermore, his side will have special meeting with entire COVID-19 task forces in each sub-districts in preventing spike in active cases after Eid holiday, because current cases in Jakarta are the lowest in general.
Current data can be seen from Wisma Atlet, where total health facilities used capacity is around 20 percent, with occupancy rate of Jakarta Government's isolation rooms is between 24-28 percent. Thus all ranks of Jakarta Forkopimda encouraged all residents to be proactive in supporting and implementing health protocol during Eid holiday.
