Latest Information on COVID-19 Cases and Vaccination in Jakarta as of June 9, 2021

Jakarta Government continues to control COVID-19 pandemic. Not only implementing 3T, COVID-19 vaccination is also being promoted to priority groups. However, community participation is still needed to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols.

Number of people tested for PCR in the past week reached 67,631

Given that COVID-19 vaccination can only reduce the impact of exposure, there is still a possibility of COVID-19 transmission if people don't follow health protocols. It can be seen from positive cases that are still fluctuating and now tend to increase. It needs cooperation from all sides to break the transmission chain.

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia stated, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, PCR test has been carried out to 15,954 specimens. From that amount, 11,167 specimens have been tested today to diagnose new cases with total of 1,371 positive results and 9,796 negative results. Besides, Antigen test was also conducted to 6,132 people with 237 positive results and 5,895 negative results.

"For information, 381,937 PCR tests have been carried out per 1 million population. While the number of people tested for PCR in the past week reached 67,631. Number of positive cases increased by 238 cases thus in total it reached 11,850 active cases as of today (including people who are still being treated/isolated)," she explained as quoted in Jakarta PPID Press Release.

Meanwhile for total confirmed cases in Jakarta as of today reached 438,458 cases. It should be noted that positive antigen test results in Jakarta were not included in total positive cases because all were reconfirmed by PCR.

From total positive cases, 419,109 people recovered with recovery rate of 95.6% and 7,499 people died with mortality rate of 1.7%. While mortality rate in Indonesia reached 2.8%

For positivity rate or positive cases percentage in the past week in Jakarta reached 10.8%, while the percentage of positive cases in total reached 10.8%. WHO also set standard positive cases percentage no more than 5%.

Jakarta Government has provided isolation beds and ICU beds for COVID-19 patients. Based on the latest data on June 6, there were 6,577 isolation beds with occupancy rate reached 45% with total isolated patients 2,986 people. While, for the ICU beds, there were 1,059 units, where the occupancy rate touched 47% with total ICU patients reached 499 people.

Vaccination process is still ongoing. Vaccination target for stage 1 and 2 (for health workers, elderly and public servants) is 3,000,689 people. Currently, first dose vaccination has been given to 2,680,631 people (89.3%) and second dose vaccination to 1,845,698 people (61.5%). While through Gotong Royong Vaccination, as many as 32,553 people in Jakarta have received vaccines.

In detail, for health workers, first dose vaccination has been given to 135,728  people (120.9%) and second dose to 120,568 people (107.4%) with total vaccination target 112,301 people.

For elderly group, first dose vaccination has been given to 593,442 people (65.1%) and second dose to 535,079 people (58.7%) with total vaccination target 911,631 people. In public service group, first dose vaccination has been given to 1,951,461  people (98.7%) and second dose to 1,197,044 people (60.6%) with total vaccination target 1,976,757 people.

Jakarta Satpol PP also gives sanction for anyone who don't wear mask and violate health protocols, and intensifies guest book data collection, as well as other forms of PSBB violations, such as in restaurants, business places, and industrial places. The imposed sanctions are in form of social work, fines, temporary suspension of activity, and revocation of business license.

Based on daily report submitted by Jakarta Satpol PP on June 8, 2021, at 18:00, Satpol PP had collected fine Rp 5.050,000. With hope all residents can be more disciplined and participated in breaking the chain of COVID-19 transmission.
