Anies Monitors Vaccination Carried Out at MAN 7 Jagakarsa

After the kick off started by Jakarta Government on July 1, vaccination for children aged 12-17 years began to run in various schools throughout Jakarta, including MAN 7 Jagakarsa and SMKN 15 Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. When Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan visited those schools on Friday (7/2), students seemed enthusiastic about participating the vaccination. Especially, because they had an opportunity to directly greet and chat with Anies during vaccination activity.

After vaccination, you should continue wearing mask, then God willing, everyone will stay healthy

At MAN 7 Jagakarsa, Anies greeted students by asking question regarding relationship between immunity after being vaccinated. "If you have been vaccinated, is it means that you are safe from exposure? It is not, isn't it? So, what is the difference from being vaccinated or not? The difference is you will not get severe symptoms. If you have been vaccinated, but then exposed to COVID-19, God willing, it will not cause severe symptoms. This is experience from our health workers that many of them still can be exposed even though they have been vaccinated. However, they didn't experience severe symptoms. So, after vaccination, you should continue wearing mask, then God willing, everyone will stay healthy," he conveyed.

His side also explained to parents and teachers who were on the location, that it is now easier to register their children to get vaccination since it can be accessed through JAKI app.

"For parents and teachers who want to register for vaccination, you can use JAKI app. I suggest you to download JAKI app, because it can inform you list of vaccination locations. Anyone can register from this app. You are free to choose a place and time for vaccination," he said.

He also greeted MAN 7 students, one of whom was named Anggita Salsabila, class XI student, and asked her about her experience regarding vaccination.

She explained that she learned about vaccination through social media, digital information, and information that are often reported on television. "Last night, I received news from my class's electronic message group, Sir. Besides that, I often saw information on the importance of vaccination on television and my parents supported me to participate in vaccination," she said.

Similar thing was conveyed by Hanny Salsabila, Anggita's friend. She expressed her gratitude because Jakarta Government has facilitated children aged 12-17 years to be vaccinated.

"I thank Mr. Governor who visit us this morning and carry out vaccination at MAN 7. We hope it will motivate students to participate in vaccination and become better agents of change, and encourage all students to be vaccinated. Thank you," she stated.

Anies also didn't forget to give appreciation to students who have been cooperative in the success of vaccination program for children. He hoped MAN 7 Jagakarsa and SMKN 15 Kebayoran Baru students who participated in vaccination can maintain their health and be protected from COVID-19 exposure.

"Thank God, it is our responsibility to protect each other. Because of the new variant, now many children are affected, where 16 percent of them are children," he added.

For information, this monitoring was also attended by Jakarta Secretariat Askesra Acting Head (Plt), Suharti; Health Agency Head, Widyastuti; South Jakarta Acting Head, Isnawa Adji; and South Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, M. Helmi.
