Jakarta Governor, Anies Basw
edan expressed his grateful, as the efforts of the Jakarta administration to realize the vaccination were successful. Previously, it had also gone through a review stage with the health team and had held a feasibility test for the Sinovac vaccine with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), thus the dose was appropriate for children."This morning, children in Jakarta have started getting vaccinated. Alhamdulillah, we are grateful that our efforts to protect every child of the nation are always given ease by Allah. We want our children to be safe, healthy, able to go back to school, able to achieve a future that can be better than all of us," expressed the Governor, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, on Thursday (7/1).
Pegadungan Residents Seem Enthusiastic to Participate in VaccinationHe stated that safety is number one, and the main thing in this current pandemic. That was why we immediately held the vaccination for children today. Thus this moment is very important for parents to ensure the safety of their children.
"Our children must be protected, freed from this disease, and they must take on a better future. So let's protect our children. Especially with the new variant, which is proven to affect children a lot, and we really need to make sure them are protected, and do not face difficult conditions due to exposure to the Sars-Cov2 virus, which causes the Covid-19 disease," he added.
Meanwhile, of the 168 variants of concern (VOC), there were 55 that impacted the exposure of children aged 0-18 years in Jakarta. Therefore, the administration had prepared a vaccination regulation for children aged 12 to 17 years by showing their KIA or KTP (for students who already have one).
After that, the children would be screened by health workers in the field, and given a form for registration. Additionally, registration could also be done via JAKI application.
Therefore, he urged parents to register their children to get vaccinated immediately.
"We know from findings in the field where those who have been vaccinated, even if they are exposed, tend to have no symptoms or mild symptoms. That's why let's protect our kids together," he asserted.
