Jakarta Government has set target of 8.8 million people to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to create herd immunity.
We are working together to face this pandemic and hopefully vaccination can run well
In order to achieve the target, Jakarta Government has collaborated with various parties, such as Forkopimda, BUMN, and private sectors. One of them is #SerbuanVaksinasi program which held at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on Saturday (7/3) and Sunday (7/4).
This program is not only held through collaboration with three pillars (Jakarta Government, TNI, and Police), but also professional organizations, such as IDI Jaya, IDAI Jaya, IBI Jaya, and PPNI Jaya.
25 Thousands Residents Targeted for Vaccination at SUGBKJakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan also monitored the program together with TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto; National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo; Jaya Military Commander, Maj. Gen. Mulyo Aji; Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Fadil Imran and his subordinates.
"This morning at GBK, mass vaccination activity was held again for residents in Jakarta. Today, 22,000 people have been registered to take vaccination at this location. Although in reality, the number continues to increase, thus maybe in the end it will be above 22,000 people," he conveyed as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Saturday (7/3).
He appealed to all Jakartans to take a part in vaccination program held by Jakarta Government, TNI-Police, or private sectors that can be monitored through JAKI app. Because vaccination is an effort to prevent exposure and protect people from severe COVID-19 symptoms that can cause death.
"It is one of our efforts to ensure all residents in Jakarta are protected, thus they don't have to go through difficult times due to being exposed to COVID-19 during the pandemic. We urge residents to go to nearest vaccination centers and if you need information about vaccination, please open JAKI app. In there, you can choose time and location for vaccination," he explained.
He is also optimistic that vaccination target of 8.8 million Jakarta residents could be achieved by the end of August 2021. Even, it could be faster if collaborations that have been built can be optimized to vaccinate residents.
