Jakarta Hits 9,399 New Covid-19 Cases as of July 2

The Jakarta COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force announces the latest information of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases as of July 2.

The number of people tested last week has reached 153,131

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head Dwi Oktavia Tatri Lestari stated, based on the latest data, the swab tests had been carried out on 30,558 specimens. 23,835 of them were to diagnose new cases with 9,399 positive and 14,436 negative results. In addition, an antigen test was also held today, where 4,294 were tested, with 1,033 positive results and 3,261 negative results.

She mentioned the trend of active positive cases in children under the age of 18 continued to grow. Of the 9,399 positive cases today, 1,056 cases were children aged 6 - 18 years, 360 cases were children aged 0 - 5 years, 7,198 cases were aged 19 - 59 years, and 785 cases were aged 60 years and over.

"This is very important for parents to take care of their children more strictly and avoid going out of the house with the children. In addition, 1 office/workplace, and 13 other places of business were also temporarily suspended.

To get vaccine, residents can go to the vaccination site. However, to speed up vaccination, they must register online via JAKI app or corona.jakarta.go.id/vaksinasi. By registering online, they may choose the schedule and place of vaccination themselves, as well as being able to pre-screen online tests.

Currently, 326 vaccination centers/locations have been available in Jakarta and will continue to be added as needed. To find them, it can be checked through the Google Maps application, by writing "vaksin COVID-19".

The categories of residents 18+ who can be vaccinated in Jakarta are:

• Residents with Jakarta ID cards

• Residents with ID cards from outside Jakarta, but domiciled in Jakarta (bring domicile information obtained from the RT officer, not necessarily from the RT head)

• Workers in Jakarta who have ID cards from outside Jakarta (bring information from the workplace)
