Number of positive cases increased by 7,529 cases thus in total it reached 90,216 active cases as of today

Given that COVID-19 vaccination can only reduce the impact of exposure, there is still a possibility of COVID-19 transmission if people don't follow health protocols. It can be seen from positive cases that are still fluctuating and now tend to increase. It needs cooperation from all sides to break the transmission chain.

Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Prevention and Control Division Head, Dwi Oktavia stated, based on the latest data from Jakarta Health Agency, PCR test has been carried out to 42,555 specimens. From that amount, 29,788 specimens have been tested today to diagnose new cases with total of 12,182 positive results and 17,606 negative results. Besides, Antigen test was also conducted to 7,288 people with 1,080 positive results and 6,208 negative results.

"Therefore, it is important for parents to take better care of their children and avoid going outside with children. As much as possible, please do activities at home with your children, because positive cases in children is still high," she conveyed, as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

She mentioned that WHO is targeting to test 1,000 people using PCR per one million population per week (not specimens), meaning that WHO target for Jakarta is at least 10,645 people should be tested per week.
