KPKP Has Checked 38,864 Sacrificial Animals in 530 Locations

On July 1-12, Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency had checked 38,864 qurban (sacrificial animals) condition from 530 animal shelters or qurban sellers.
This inspection is to ensure mustahik or recipients receive safe, healthy, whole, and halal sacrificial meat
Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati mentioned, qurban health and condition should be checked to ensure qurban is in accordance with sharia.
"The issuance of Animal Health Certificate (SKKH) will take effect from July 1, 2021," she conveyed, Wednesday (7/14).

has conducted examination on Blood Test Preparation (PUD) at animal shelters or qurban sellers."There are 253 samples that we examined and all results show negative anthrax," she asserted.
She explained, 640 Jakarta KPKP Agency personnel were deployed with assistance from Indonesian Veterinary Association (PHDI) and Agriculture Ministry to inspect qurban on D+1 to D+3 of Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri.
"This inspection is to ensure mustahik or recipients receive safe, healthy, whole, and halal sacrificial meat," she added.
In order to strengthen examination on sacrificial meat, laboratory test on meat samples will be taken from slaughterhouses and she will conduct investigation if personnel from KPKP laboratory and Center for Animal and Livestock Health Service (Pusyankeswanak) find dead sacrificial animal.
"Qurban health check and laboratory test on qurban meat are provided for free," she stated.
Jakarta KPKP Agency will continue to socialize and educate residents to make sacrifice in a safe and healthy way during Emergency PPKM by implementing health protocol.
"We also hold webinar for community and qurban committee from June 30 until Eid al-Adha. Besides, we will make simulation video and technical guides for people who are going to make qurban," she said.
She appealed residents to purchase qurban online during COVID-19 pandemic and Emergency PPKM period.
"It can also be coordinated through qurban committee in each mosque and religious institutions (Baznas, Amil Zakat Institution, and others)," she continued.
For information, this year's Eid al-Adha in Jakarta is carried out in according to Jakarta Gubernatorial Instruction No. 43/2021 concerning Control of Slaughtering Sacrificial Animals During Eid al-Adha 1442 H/2021 in COVID-19 Pandemic.
It also regulated about shelters and qurban seller locations which determined by mayor/regent while implementing health protocol.
Slaughtering qurban should be also carried out according to Sharia and comply with health protocol, restriction on number of qurban committee who are present, and people who sacrifice shouldn't come to the slaughtering location. Later, qurban meat will be distributed to mustahik's house using eco-friendly packaging.
