Thousand Islands KPKP Destroys 21.5 Kilograms Sacrificial Meat Unfit for Consumption

Thousand Islands Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency destroyed 21.5 kilograms sacrificial meat that was not fit for consumption from sacrificial animal slaughtering on Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijri.

From this examination, there are 21.5 kilograms liver and lungs contained of worms

Thousand Islands KPKP Sub-agency Head, Devi Lidya conveyed, her side had examined total 221 sacrificial animals, both meat and offal.

"We examined sacrificial animals in 10 slaughtering locations in 6 urban villages in Thousand Islands, consisting 67 cows, 20 goats, and 134 sheep. From this examination, there are 21.5 kilograms liver and lungs contained of worms, which are immediately destroyed," she explained, Wednesday (7/21).

She mentioned that health team will continue to examine sacrificial meat on Karya Island, Lancang Island, and Sebira Island which have just carried out sacrificial animal slaughtering today.

"We will make sure sacrificial animal's meat and offal are fit for consumption before being distributed to residents," she stated.
