Flood Anticipation, 2 Portable Pumps Prepared in Koja

Due to damaged pump in Pinang Pump House, Water Management of North Jakarta Public Works Sub-Department prepared two portable pump to prevent Koja sub-district from flood.

"Pinang Pump House damaged badly and difficult to be repaired because the pump is too old," said Wagiman Silalahi, Water Management of North Jakarta Public Works Sub-department Head on Saturday (11/22).

Silalahi explained, his side has repaired the pump since two months ago but the 2 square meter cubic capacity pump was in trouble again.

Then, his side placed 2 portable pumps with 500 liter per second capacity to solve inundation potency on 20 hectare of Koja Area due to rainy season.

According to Silalahi, his side had monitored 35 pump houses and found 16 static pumps to handle flood are damage. "The improvement is speed up before the rainy season," he added.

From 35 pump houses, 12 pump houses with 19 pumps are under Water Management of North Jakarta Public Works sub-dept. authority. The pump houses are located in Bendungan Melayu, Bimoli, Cilincing, Gaya Motor I and II, Kampung Gusti, Pinang, Sindang, Lagoa, Luar Batang, Kapuk I B and Kapuk Kamal.
