Jakarta BKOW Distributes Social Aid for Residents in Matraman

Jakarta Coordinating Agency for Women Organizations (BKOW) provides social aid for underprivileged residents and residents who undergo self-isolation in Palmeriam and Kebon Manggis Urban Villages, Matraman, East Jakarta, on Thursday (8/19).

Jakarta BKOW Chairperson, Ellisa Sumarlin mentioned, not only distributing staple food packages, her side also symbolically gave ID cards and family cars for fire victims on Jalan Slamet Riyadi 4 RT 10/04 Kebon Manggis. This assistance was given to commemorate 76th Indonesian Independence Day.

"Social aid is given for residents who undergo self-isolation and underprivileged residents. This is the 10th location and we will continue to provide assistance in other areas," she stated.

Her side provided 35 packages for residents in Palmeriam and 50 packages for residents in Kebon Manggis. She hopes staple food packages that consisting of rice, cooking oil, milk, sardines, and others can be useful for those who receive it.

East Jakarta TP PKK Chairperson, Diah Anwar also expressed the similar thing. She asked residents who undergo self-isolation due to COVID-19 and fire victims can be patient in dealing with their current situation.

"Especially for residents who are self-isolating, I hope they can remain think positively, don't feel alone. Because we all care and the important thing is always positive thinking, take care of your health and follow health protocols, God willing, you will recover soon," she said.
