70 Pregnant Women in Thousand Islands Have Been Vaccinated

COVID-19 vaccination for pregnant women in Thousand Islands Regency has reached total 70 local residents on August 3-8, 2021.
There are 151 pregnant women in six urban villages in Thousand Islands. However, only 70 of them have been vaccinated
Thousand Islands Health Sub-agency Head, Herwin Meifendi conveyed, this policy referred to Circular Letter from Health Ministry HK.02.01/1/2007/2021 concerning COVID-19 Vaccination for Pregnant Women and Screening Adjustments in COVID-19 Vaccination Implementation where only pregnant women with 13-33 weeks pregnancy who can be vaccinated in order to lower the severity when they are infected with COVID-19 since it can have impact on pregnancy and fetus.
Vaccination for Pregnant Women Launched in Ciracas Sub-district
"Based on data, currently there are 151 pregnant women in six urban villages in Thousand Islands. However, only 70 of them have been vaccinated, while four of them have been injected with second dose vaccine," he informed, Saturday (8/21).
According to him, data collection had been conducted on pregnant women whose gestational age is in accordance with provisions at each urban village health centers. He hopes health cadres in each regions can socialize it and provide assistance during screening and vaccination.
"We will intensify socialization until all pregnant women can be vaccinated at local health centers because we must pay attention to gestational age," he asserted.
