Emission Test Conducted on 17,898 Vehicles in July-August 2021

Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency recorded 17,898 vehicles had been tested for emissions in July-August 2021. LH Agency carries out vehicle emission test routinely as an effort to improve air quality in Jakarta.

Those who want free emission test can go to Jakarta Environment Agency every Tuesday and Thursday

Jakarta LH Agency's Environmental Pollution Control Section Head, Tiyana Brotoadi said, number of vehicles carrying out emission tests had decreased during COVID-19 pandemic due to restrictions on people's activity.

LH Continues to Improve Air Quality in Jakarta

"As many as 7,869 vehicles carried out emission tests in July and 10,029 vehicles in August. Normally, it can reach 28 thousand vehicles in average," she stated, Tuesday (8/31).  

During Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM) period, air quality in Jakarta improved because many people didn't go outside their homes or use private vehicles.

"When the situation returns to normal, we will encourage people to carry out vehicle emission tests to improve air quality in Jakarta," she mentioned.

Currently, she added, there are 202 vehicle emission test service locations for individual passenger cars and 11 workshops for motorcycles in Jakarta. Further information regarding vehicle emission test locations can be seen in E-UJI EMISI application.

"Those who want free emission test can go to Jakarta Environment Agency every Tuesday and Thursday," she closed.
