North Jakarta Optimizes Flood Management Programs

As rainy season approaches, the North Jakarta Government anticipates inundation and flooding in the region.

However, we must not be careless and still have to anticipate it

North Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Juaini Yusuf conveyed, related OPDs had anticipatory actions early on, such as readiness of work infrastructure, supporting equipment, and work programs.

"We optimize channel dredging in areas prone to inundation, dredging and deepening reservoirs, repairing and cleaning channels," he explained, Thursday (9/2).

According to him, mutual cooperation work through Gerebek Lumpur and Gerebek Sampah programs will be intensified while complying with health protocols because it is still in the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

"Over years, inundation points continue to decrease. However, we must not be careless and still have to anticipate it by collaborating and involving all stakeholders," he mentioned.
