2015, PU Department Handle Pedestrian Maintenance

Jakarta Public works (PU) Department receives new task to manage and handle pedestrian walk in capital for upcoming 2015. This job transition is intended to avoid overlapping for each SKPD (Provincial Working Unit) for the same job.

This is the last year for Park and Cemetery Department to handle pedestrian

"This is the last year for Park and Cemetery Department to handle pedestrian. Next year this authority will be given to PU Department," told Nandar Sunandar, Head of Jakarta Park and Cemetery department on Wednesday (11/26).

He continued, for next year, his department just make and handle the path around the park area.

Nandar added, his side did not provide all pedestrian road, but only paint and make it comfortable for the pedestrian. As it looked on Jalan Sabang, in front of RSCM (Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital), Cikini, and Casablanca. While pedestrian road made by cone block is PU department authority.

He denied if this job transition is caused by unoptimal working of his agency. He also resisted that pedestrian project done by his agency always covered the water drainage and often caused inundation.

"That is wrong accusation, pedestrian improvement worked by Park department is suit the rule, we also see the water line there. We give the authority to PU because we don't want have overlapping work," denied Nandar.
