Tebet Station Arrangement Work Completed

Second phase of integrated station area arrangement project in Jakarta continues to be accelerated. This arrangement will facilitate public transport users to move from one mode of transportation to another and minimize the complexity and congestion in station area.

Based on data from September 13, 2021, Tebet Station is one of four integrated stations whose arrangement has been completed. While for arrangement progress for Manggarai Station has reached 70.17 percent; Palmerah Station 88.53 percent; and Gondangdia Station 59.83 percent.

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub)'s Head, Syafrin Liputo stated, arrangement in other three integrated stations is targeted to be completed this year.

"We continue to intensify coordination with stakeholders in order to accelerate the arrangement in three other locations thus we can achieve the target by completing the arrangement project this year," he asserted, Tuesday (9/14).

Arrangement in station areas, he continued, is a manifestation of intermodal integration that facilitates people's mobility from commuter line to other advanced transportation and vice versa.

It includes constructing shelters, drop off and pick up points for passengers, increasing pedestrian crossings, and improving other supporting facilities.

"The arrangement concept is a complete integration at each station which is also expected to be a solution to overcome congestion that often occurs. We will provide more organized place for vehicles to pick up and drop off passengers to prevent traffic chaos," he conveyed.

For information, first phase arrangement of four integrated station areas was carried out in Tanah Abang Station, Juanda Station and Senen Station. Inauguration for the completion of arrangement work was carried out by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan and Minister of BUMN, Erick Thohir; and Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi on June 17, 2020.
