This Year, Integrated Station Arrangement is Carried Out in 4 Stations in Jakarta

The Integrated Station Arrangement Phase Two project is still underway. There are four stations that currently under construction this year, namely Manggarai Station, Tebet Station, Palmerah Station, and Gondangdia Station.

Arrangement in those four stations is targeted to be completed by this year

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo mentioned, until March 24, 2021, arrangement progress in Tebet Station reached 69.14 percent; Palmerah Station 54.74 percent; Gondangdia Station 14.1 percent; and Manggarai Station 3.84 percent.

"Arrangement in those four stations is targeted to be completed by this year," he added, Friday (3/26).

Three MRT Stations Provide Facilities for Non-folding Bike Users

This year, arrangement will be also carried out at Kota Station as a part of revitalization project in Kota Tua.

"Arrangement at Kota Station is targeted to be completed in 2022," he conveyed.

This integrated station arrangement project involved many parties, both internal parties within Jakarta Government and external parties with more than 15 collaborators.

"We continue to intensify coordination with stakeholders in order to accelerate arrangement work in those four locations. We also urge intensive coordination with all stakeholders related to land use thus the target can be achieved this year," he asserted.

According to him, station arrangement project is a manifestation of intermodal integration which facilitates people's mobility from commuter lines to other transportation or vice versa.

"The point is, this arrangement aims for intermodal integration that can facilitate mobility of KRL passengers to continue their trip using other transport, whether BRT, bike taxi, bajaj, or mikrolet (KWK) minivan," he said.  

He expected the station arrangement can be a solution to traffic congestion that often occurs in the area. Thus the arrangement includes building shelters, drop-off and pick-up points for passengers, improving pedestrian crossing and other supporting facilities.

"We use truly integration concept, a complete integration at each station. So, we prepare areas for pick-up and drop-off passengers, thus they no longer do it on the roadside which can cause congestion," he stated.
