100 Trees Alongside Jalan Persahabatan Timur Pruned

As many as 14 officers of East Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency are seen pruning around 100 trees alongside Jalan Persahabatan Timur, Rawamangun, Pulogadung.

Forest and Green Belt Division Head, Atang Setiawan said, types of trees pruned were Mahogany, Tanjung and Angsana.

2,358 Trees Pruned from January to September 15 in Central Jakarta

"It has been ongoing since five days ago and is targeted to be completed today. Next week, we will focus on trees in the front of Persahatan Hospital," he stated, Sunday (9/19).

According to him, it was a continuation of the East Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Sub-agency program last August considering most trees were leafy already and prone to fall when rain occurs.

"It aims to prevent fallen tree. Moreover, rain accompanied by strong winds often hit East Jakarta lately," he concluded.
