Jakarta Provincial Government starting next year will raise the amount of Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) nominal. This act is taken following Jakartan’s increasing needs after fuel (BBM) price hike. At this time, Jakarta Education Department is calculating how much the raise would be.
The assumption is simple. When the expensive rate is high, citizens’ buying capacity is automatically decreasing
“The assumption is simple. When the expensive rate is high, citizens’ buying capacity is automatically decreasing. It means, their ability to buy food outside is getting difficult,” uttered Head of Jakarta Education Department, Lasro Marbun, Wednesday (11/26).
According to Marbun, the amount of KJP nominal for state school students and private school students will be different because their needs are also different. Private school students will get bigger KJP nominal than state school students because their school fee is higher. This is decided after his department got suggestion from the Private School Consultative Body (BMPS).
BOP to Be Added 10-20 Percent“The KJP next year is divided into two, for state school students and private school students. For state school students, KJP is only for their personal needs, while private school students also need it to pay SPP (school fee). At least we could cover all needs,” he stated.
For information, current KJP nominal received by senior high school (SMA) students is Rp 240,000 per student per month, junior high school (SMP) students Rp 210,000 per student per month, and elementary school (SD) students Rp 180,000 per student per month. The aid is disbursed once in every three months through their DKI Bank accounts. Fund transfer through bank accounts is chosen so all students would have their own bank accounts and the fund would not be used for purposes outside their education needs.
