Less Preparation, Rawa Belong Flower Festival Deserted

The Seventh Flower Festival held again in Rawa Belong, Jalan Sulaiman, Sukabumi Utara Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district, West Jakarta. But, because of lack promotion, the festival which actually full of participant and visitor, now look deserted.

Rawa Belong flower traders were usually involved in this festival like years ago

Not like the last year which have many flower traders selling there, now it looks deserted. The event is less of flower variety and visitors. There just only PKK members, official, West Jakarta City Government civil servant, and a small amount of flower traders.

Rawa Belong traders, Nirmala (40) said, Many traders are not getting involved in the event. So the traders are keep selling like usual day.

"Rawa Belong flower traders were usually involved in this festival like years ago," said Nirmala, Wednesday (11/26).

Meanwhile, Wawan Hermawan as Head Section of Exhibition for West Jakarta Culture Department Sub-dept., admitted that the event is lack of promotion and socialization.

"We prepare the event in hurry and it holds a day only," he explained.

Previously, he added, the event was handled by UPT together with Sub-dept. of Culture. Now, the UPT does not provide the festival. It handled by the sub-department.
