This Week, Channel Normalization in Gg. Moh Ali Completed

The Johar Baru Sub-district's Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit continues to accelerate the normalization of water channels in an effort to overcome inundation and flooding during the rainy season. One of them is seen at Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Gg. Moh Ali, RT 03/03, Tanah Tinggi.

Johar Baru Sub-district's SDA Executing Unit Head, Rudy Prasetya said, it was executed by attaching U-ditch that has been going on since mid-August and is targeted to be complete on October 8. It was a proposal and the result of the residents' Musrenbang about malfunctioned channel and damaged sheet pile.

"Through 20 personnel, the project work has touched 220 meters or 79 percent from the target set at 250 meters long," he expressed, Monday (10/4).

He said, it was carried out by dismantling the channel wall which previously had 40 centimeters to 60 centimeters wide and 60 centimeters high. It was then fitted with a 40x40x120-centimeter U-ditch.

"It is installed on both sides of the channel and spends about 208 units of u-ditch and 416 cover plates. I hope residents can be free from flooding, especially during heavy rains," he stated.
