East Jakarta Gulkarmat Ensures Flood Handling Equipment are in Good Condition

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency ensures their flood handling equipment are in proper condition to use.

All supporting equipment for evacuation operation and others are ensured to be in a good condition

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Fire Control and Rescue Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman stated that his side had checked and collected data on all flood handling equipment in every sub-districts.

"All supporting equipment for evacuation operation and others are ensured to be in a good condition," he asserted, Friday (10/8).

From total 44 inflatable boats, he explained, 23 boats are in good condition, while 21 boats are damaged. For outboard motor which is usually used to drain water, he added, 24 units are in good condition while 6 units are damaged. Besides, there are also 68 paddles and 12 ring buoys that are ready to use.

"Each sub-district has prepared 2-3 inflatable boats. This year, 5 inflatable boats are being procured to improve our performance during flood evacuation process," he conveyed.

Anticipating flood, his side also prepared 16 medium pressure pumps, 4 high pressure pumps, 6 light pressure pumps, 9 quick response units, 2 multipurpose units, 1 submersible pump, and 14 portable pumps.

"All of them are ready to drain floodwater in flood-prone urban villages," he said.
