Jakarta Environment (LH) Agency encourages people to play an active role in managing expired drugs starting from their households thus it will not pollute the environment. It can be conducted by sorting and collecting hazardous and toxic (B3) waste starting from the household.

Jakarta LH Agency Head, Syaripudin stated, residents can sort expired drugs at home and pack them separately in closed containers, such as envelopes or plastic bags.

"We have prepared red trash cans for household B3 waste," he added.
According to him, household B3 waste in sorted trash cans will be brought to designated B3 waste collection location/depot.
After large amount of B3 waste has been collected, his side will call special truck to transport it to city level B3 dumpsite (TPS) and send it to third party who provides B3 waste destruction service. For information, the third party already has permit from Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
"We need active role of the community to sort out expired drugs thus environment is not polluted," he conveyed.
