Central Jakarta Government inspected infiltration wells construction which started today in office and commercial areas. On this occasion, his side checked the kick off in Menteng, Tanah Abang, and Senen Sub-districts.

Central Jakarta Secretary, Iqbal Akbaruddin stated his side had a turn to check the kick off in Tanah Abang Sub-district, namely on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan KH Mas Mansyur.

"We are checking infiltration wells construction in government office and commercial buildings," he mentioned, Monday (10/18).

According to him, infiltration wells not only built to anticipate flooding and inundation, but also to maintain soil hydrology, prevent sea water pollution, and maintain soil quality in order to prevent land subsidence.

"From our monitoring, we have seen infiltration wells. However, I will review readjustment regarding infiltration wells location and number," he conveyed.

His side hoped building owners would be responsive to the maintenance of infiltration wells.

In different location, Central Jakarta Secretary Assistant for Governance, Denny Ramdany checked the construction in three locations in Menteng Sub-district, namely Jalan Kendal, Jalan Blora, and Jalan Pati.

"From those three locations that we checked, it turns out they haven't built infiltration wells. We have reminded the building owners to immediately build infiltration wells within the next 30 days. If they don't build it, we will impose strict sanctions," he asserted.
