Thousands Infiltration Wells will Be Built in Kemayoran

Total 1,855 infiltration wells will be built in Kemayoran Sub-district, Central Jakarta. Building infiltration wells is carried out as one of local government's efforts to overcome inundation and flooding in rainy season.
The work will be carried out by third party appointed by Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency
Kemayoran Sub-district Head, Asep Mulyaman stated, thousands infiltration wells will be built in 8 urban villages in Kemayoran with around 230 infiltration wells in each urban village. According to plan, this construction work will be started in October.
"Central Jakarta Sub-agency will build those infiltration wells. The work will be carried out by third party appointed by Central Jakarta SDA Sub-agency. We have received explanations from the third party," he explained, Wednesday (9/29).
Construction of Five Infiltration Wells on Panggang Island CompletedRegarding location of infiltration wells, he said it will be determined by local urban villages. Currently, urban villages are still conducting survey to determine the location where infiltration wells will be built.
Kemayoran Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) unit Head, Supriyadi conveyed, one of the location is on Jl. Kompleks Angkasa Pura, Kebon Kosong Urban Village. Not only building infiltration wells, his side will also normalize channel on the location.
His side will build infiltration wells using concrete porous pipes with depth 2.8 meters, length 4.5 meters, then top width 15 meters and bottom width 9 meters.
"We are focusing on making infiltration wells on Jalan Letjen Suprapto since it is often flooded. There are other areas that prone to flood and inundation, but we are still surveying it," he mentioned.
