Thousand Islands Reopens Tourism Sector from Today

Tourism business actors and tourists must continue to comply with health protocols to curb the spread of Covid-19

The Jakarta administration announced on Friday (10/22) that Thousand Islands, which has seen its tourist sector hit hard by the pandemic, would be reopened starting today as PPKM Level 3 dropped to Level 2.

Puji Astuti, Sub-agency Head of Tourism, Economy and Creative said, the maximum number of visits was 25 percent.

"Tourism business actors and tourists must continue to comply with health protocols to curb the spread of Covid-19," she expressed.

To facilitate supervision at each pier, she stated, two routes were created for local residents and employees on duty in Thousand Islands, including a special route for tourists or the general public for checking vaccine certification via the PeduliLindungi application.

It referred to the Home Ministry Instruction number 53/2021 on PPKM Level 3, 2, and 1 in Java and Bali, as well as Jakarta Decree number 1245/2021 on PPKM Level 2.

"It also refers to the Agency Head of Tourism, Economy and Creative number 638/2021 on PPKM Level 2 in the tourism business sector," she stated.
