Public Libraries Reopen with Maximum Capacity of 50 Percent

Public Libraries in Jakarta which managed by Jakarta Library and Archive Agency (Perpusip) have been reopened to the public in line with implementation of PPKM Level 2 in Jakarta.

Library serves visitors who want to read on the spot, but visitors cannot borrow the book collections

This reopening is based on Jakarta Perpusip Agency Head's Decree No. 912/2021 concerning Re-opening of Public Library Service and PDS HB Jassin during Implementation of Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM) Level 2 Corona Virus Disease 2019.

Jakarta Perintis Agency Head, Wahyu Haryadi mentioned, regional public libraries and administrative city-level public libraries are open from Monday to Sunday at 10:00-15:00. While PDS Hab Jassin is open from Monday to Friday at 09:00-15:00.

Jakarta Reopens RPTRA to the Public

For national holiday and public holiday, library services are closed. Public libraries are opened in limited manner with maximum capacity 50 percent and apply health protocols," he conveyed, Monday (10/25).

He explained that services at PDS HB Jassin were temporarily moved to Jakarta Perpusip Agency Building on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Pulogadung, East Jakarta during revitalization of Taman Ismail Marzuki.

"Library serves visitors who want to read on the spot, but visitors cannot borrow the book collections," he stated.

For information, every public library service providers should prepare facilities according to health protocols, including:

a. Hand washing facility

b. Soap

c. Body temperature measuring instrument

d. Hand sanitizer with minimum alcohol 70 percent

Visitors are also required to comply with health protocols, as follows:

a. Must have been vaccinated against COVID-19 (minimum first dose), except for residents who are in the three-month grace period after confirmed COVID-19 as proven by laboratory result, and people with contra indications for COVID-19 vaccination should bring their medical certificate

b. Children under 12 years old are allowed to enter libraries accompanied by adults

c. Show vaccination certificate in JAKI application or PeduliLindungi application or evidence of vaccination issued by authorized institution

d. Required to wear masker

e. Wash hands with soap and running water within 21 seconds

f. Visitors with body temperature above 37.5 C are not allowed to enter library room and it is recommended to go to the nearest hospital to check their health

g. Maintain order and physical distance at least 1.5 meters from officers and other users

h. Visitors can only allowed to read book on the library
