Citizens Ready to Escort Jakarta as Anti Corruption Zone

The Community Care for Jakarta Development (MPPJ) gives appreciation to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) that sets Jakarta as pilot province of anti corruption zone. With that, public services in the capital city are expected would be better.

“The citizens are ready to escort and take part in creating Jakarta that is free from corruption, especially in terms of preventing and taking action towards clean and serving bureaucracy in Jakarta Provincial Government,” stated MPPJ Executive Director, Arman Zakaria, Thursday (11/27).

In addition, Zakaria continued, MPPJ also supports the effort of Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama who took firm action in disciplining Jakarta Provincial Government employees who do cheatings or half-heart working in serving the citizens.

“In terms of performance and program implementation acceleration, Mr. Basuki should have given full trust and authority to all city officials. If they were guilty, clearly there must be sanction, as long as it is in accordance to procedures and not done arbitrarily,” he uttered.

Meanwhile, City Secretary, Saefullah, said that Jakarta Provincial Government is trying to create a bureaucracy that is transparent, accountable, and free from corruption. One of the efforts done is by evaluating the disbursement of grant and social aid funds.

“Next year, the disbursement of grant and social aid funds will be done selectively,” he asserted.
