Cipinang Melayu Residents Return Home as Floods Recede

Residents eventually returned to their houses in the flood-hit RW 03 and 04 Cipinang Melayu Urban Village, Makasar, East J akarta, on Tuesday (11/2). It had receded since 11 PM yesterday.

Cipinang Melayu Urban Village Head, Arroyantoro said, they were previously evacuated at Al Muqorobin Mosque, tents in front of RW 04 Post and at Borobudur University Hall.

"They are starting to return home to do some clean-up. We will send PPSU to help them," he said.

In the meantime, East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head, Purwono explained, the sub-agency would remain send package rice meals to people affected by flood in Cipinang Melayu (Makasar) and Cipinang Muara (Jatinegara).

Each urban village received 250 boxes of packaged rice meals and mineral water. Especially for Cipinang Muara, food aid was provided for breakfast and lunch.

"We sent them food this morning. Despite the flood has receded, locals have not been able to cook, so they need food aid," he stated.
