Jagakarsa Ready to Face Flooding as Rainy Season Approaches

Around 300 joint personnel of the Jagakarsa Sub-district participated in a ceremony about readiness of facing the rain in Setu Babakan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/2) morning.

It was led by South Jakarta Vice Mayor, Isnawa Adji and was participated by personnel of Satpol PP, Fire and Rescue Sub-agency, PPSU, Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, Bina Marga, Parks and City Forest, BPBD, Health Sub-agency, army, police, and volunteers.

"The ceremony is held according to Jakarta Governor's mandate that every region must be on standby and quickly respond to the peak of rainy season and extreme weather, which is predicted to last until February 2022," he expressed.

He explained, Jagakarsa area has a hilly terrain so it is necessary to anticipate landslides. To face it, we'll optimize readiness of personnel, infrastructure, posts, pump houses, polders, pump cars and rubber boats.

"By so, we can give the best performance and it's well conditioned," he stated.
