Rain Garden and Bioswale Have Been Built on Jalan Joglo Raya

West Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency has completed rain garden and bioswale construction in green belt area of Jalan Joglo Raya, Joglo Urban Village, Kembangan.

West Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency Head, Jauhar Arifin mentioned, his side had completed rain garden and bioswale construction last week. Those were built to minimize inundation on Jalan Joglo Raya.

"Rain garden and bioswale are built on green belt to help overcome inundation. Because rainwater will seep into the ground through rain garden and bioswale," he stated, Friday (5/11).

City Presents Urban City as Public Third Room

He explained that rain garden or bioretention basin is shallow basin layered with coarse sand and gravel and covered with vegetation layer. While bioswale is channeled depression planted with vegetation that receives rainwater runoff. It usually has width 1 meter and length 60 meters and connected to channel around the site.

"Rain garden and bioswale are not only help flood water recede quickly, but also beautify green belt," he closed.
