61 Trees Planted in Jankes Munjul Green Open Space

Total 61 trees with various types and sizes were planted in Jankes Munjul Green Open Space (RTH), Jl. Buntu, RW 01 Munjul, Cipayung, East Jakarta, on Friday (10/29). This tree planting is routinely carried out by Jakarta City Park and Forestry Agency every Friday in different locations.

In this place, we have planted 61 trees with diameter of 12, 15, and 30 centimeters

The trees planting which carried out on an area of 2.8 hectare was led directly by Jakarta City Park and Forestry Agency Secretary, Romi Sidharta and involved around 50 employees of City Park and Forestry Agency.

According to him, today's activity was the second trees planting activity which was carried out in Jumat Menanam (Planting Friday) program. The activity was first held at Kupingan Antasari Flyover, South Jakarta. The goal is to grow more trees in 1,800 green open spaces in Jakarta belonging to Jakarta City Parks and Forestry Agency.

"In this place, we have planted 61 trees with diameter of 12, 15, and 30 centimeters. It will make RTH to be greener and more comfortable," he said after leading the planting.

Those 61 trees were consisting of 8 yellow tabebuya trees with diameter 15 centimeters, 5 buttercup tree, 5 flamboyan trees with diameter of 15 centimeters, 5 spatodea trees with diameter of 15 centimeters, and 30 pink and white tabebuya trees with diameter of 12 centimeters. All of those trees were procured in 2021.

"Trees with large diameter usually grow faster. Thus those trees can grow thicker and denser," he mentioned.

His side will plant more trees in 1,800 RTHs, including rare types of Betawi trees, such as buni, jamblang, kecapi, matoa, and other trees.

Through this program, his side wanted to encourage people to be interested in gardening. People can use their yard or use pot to grow plants.

"We will encourage the community to join this planting program, thus Jakarta will be greener," he stated.
