Three Floating Pump Overcome Floods on Jalan RE Martadinata

Dozens of personnel and three floating pumps under Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency have successfully handled the flood on Jalan RE Martadinata Ancol Urban Village, Pademangan Sub-district, North Jakarta.

Information and Data Center Information System Executing Unit Head, Anwar Sobandi said, it occurred near the Bintang Mas Traffic Light Police Post.

"Flood inundates roads up to 60 square meters wide. At 10:30 AM, it is already below 10 square centimeters with 10 centimeters deep. We are still trying to handle it until completely dry," he expressed, Monday (11/8).

Two Mobile Pumps Alerted in Kebon Jeruk Area

He explained, as many as 20 personnel were deployed to support the handling of the flood. Besides operating the floating pump, they also covered the seepage of water with sandbags, both in the gutter and on road and bridge leaks, and made a kisdam to block the overflow of water from the river.

"We continuously prepare floating pumps to anticipate the emergence of flooding due to tidal waves at the location," he stated.
