Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan became a ceremony inspector in commemoration of Heroes' Day, which was attended by the ranks of Jakarta Forkopimda at Jakarta City Hall Courtyard, on Wednesday (11/10). At that occasion, he read the message from the Social Minister regarding Heroes' Day with the theme 'My Heroes, My Inspiration'.
At this time, so many heroes and individuals choose to save others
In commemorating Hero's Day this year, he advised, it was necessary to take lessons and prioritize the public interest and the national interest above personal interests. It is because for almost two years, the Jakarta administration has been fighting for Covid-19, which has had an impact on various aspects of life.
"We feel a health crisis that has an impact on the economy, socio-culture, and various things. At this time, so many heroes and individuals choose to save others, from medical treatment to funeral arrangements, provide vaccination services, prepare applications for millions of people to register for vaccines," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Wednesday (11/10).
Anies as Climate Heroes Speaker Reminds the Importance of City' Role in Tackling Climate ChangeAccording to him, all those involved in handling Covid-19, especially in Jakarta were heroes at this time. It is because anyone who is more concerned with the interests of others than their own interests, will create comfort in social life.
"We can see for example where vaccine registration is easier and behind it there are those who work but the benefits are felt for many people. They are our hero. Today we see our families being driven to the hospital and home. During the process, they don't necessarily see each other's faces, as they wear masks, PPE, and they are also our heroes," he expressed.
Aside that, he also explained that the administration would make a new tradition that every November 10, they would commemorate Heroes' Day by visiting the tomb of MH. Thamrin, at Karet Bivou TPU, Central Jakarta.
"This morning, together with Bamus Betawi, we made a pilgrimage to the tomb of MH. Thamrin. We know MH. Th
amrin is the name of the main street in the center of Jakarta. InsyaAllah, it will become a new tradition every November," he concluded.
