Fallen Tree, 3 Houses on Jalan Kemuning III Damaged

A tree fell and hit three houses on Jalan Kemuning III, RT 08/04, Utan Kayu Utara Urban Village, Matraman Sub-District, East Jakarta, Friday (11/28).

The tree was planted in 1970s on a field at that time. But now, there are many houses around the tree. Some of its roots are already fragile

The 15-meter high tree was a dondong joran type with diameter of 1 meter, while two of the houses belong to Abdurahman (58) and one owned by Sunardi (60).

Fallen Trees Hit 3 Cars & 1 Motorcycle

According to Head of Matraman Sub-District, Hari Nugraha, his party immediately contacted East Jakarta Parks Sub-Department to evacuate the tree. However, the tree’s evacuation was a bit difficult due to the location is a dense settlement.

“Dispute had happened because of this incident, but it has been resolved amicably. We also have proposed to help repairing the damaged houses,” he stated.
