SDA Replaces Cover of Vertical Drainage on Jalan Intan

Jakarta Government through Water Resources Agency continues to add vertical drainage points in areas prone to inundation and flooding, both in areas close to residential areas and roads.

Vertical drainage work is still undergoing which is the responsibility of relevant vendors

Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency Head, Yusmada Faizal mentioned, currently his side is still building vertical drainage in several locations, including on Jl. Intan, Cilandak, South Jakarta. For vertical drainage on highway, his side uses cover that is resistant to vehicle loads.

"Currently, vertical drainage work is still undergoing which is the responsibility of relevant vendors. Vertical drainage cover on Jl. Intan that was damaged is temporary cover, so the related vendor is now repairing and replacing it with heavy duty-type cover to ensure road users safety," he explained on Saturday (11/27), as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release.

Here are 3 Steps to Overcome Inundation and Flooding in Central Jakarta

According to him, Jakarta Government is trying to optimize vertical drainage construction thus it can accommodate, hold, and increase groundwater reserves. Besides, it reduces rainwater runoff into sewer and other waterways in order to prevent inundation and flooding and can be useful during dry season.
