Jakarta Satpol PP Plants 2,000 Trees Throughout Jakarta Today

Jakarta Satpol PP encouraged people to preserve environment through Planting 2,000 Trees program which carried out in five municipalities and Thousand Islands.

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin said trees were planted in East Flood Canal (KBT), Duren Sawit; in front of Mercure Hotel; behind Gajah Museum; South Jakarta Mayor Office; KBT in Cilincing, and Untung Jawa Island.
"Total 2,000 trees planted consist of protective and productive trees, such as durian, guava, and mango," he said after leading trees planting activity in KBT, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Tuesday (11/30).
3D Mural Paintings Beautify Duri Kosambi Urban VillageHe explained, Planting 2,000 Trees program is a form of Satpol PP's duties as regulated in PP No. 16/2018 on Satpol Pamong Praja (PP), namely Community Protection. In addition, this activity was carried out in commemorating Indonesian Tree Planting Day on November 28, 2021.
"We are trying to realize community protection duty in a program called 'Satpol PP Peduli Lingkungan' by planting trees throughout Jakarta in order to improve Jakarta's air quality thus people can stay healthy," he mentioned.
He assessed that trees are not only important to prevent flood, but also very beneficial for life since it can produce oxygen and reduce carbon dioxide.
"Trees absorb water that falls in form of rain because they need water, with many trees planted, water that falls to the ground will meet the need of existing trees," he conveyed.
According to him, massive trees planting in urban area can maintain balance of environmental ecosystem and its habitat. The abundance of trees that also provide nesting and sheltering places and source of foods for birds.
"This environmental preservation action supports other environments that interact with each other. We, humans are no exception since we need good oxygen in Jakarta," he said.
He encouraged people, especially Satpol PP personnel in Jakarta to support trees planting and use open spaces or yards in their environment. Because planting trees not only gives benefits only today, but also for generations in the future.
"To Satpol PP personnel, I invite you all to participate by educating local residents and their community to promote trees planting movement," he stated.
