Rawa Malang Reservoir Development Progress Reaches 70 Percent

The reservoir is very important as an effort to overcome flooding

The Rawa Malang Reservoir construction progress on Jalan Cakung Drainase, Kampung Sawah, RT 10/01, Semper Timur Urban Village, Cilincing Sub-district, North Jakarta has reached 70 percent.

North Jakarta Cilincing Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Tjahyono Budi Setiawan said, its construction has been ongoing since October 2020.

Rawa Malang Embung Construction Has Touched 40 Percent

"The reservoir is very important as an effort to overcome flooding," he expressed, Wednesday (12/1).

In connection with the existence of a toll road construction, he stated, it was temporarily suspended for fear of disrupting the construction process.

"After the toll road construction through reservoir area, the reservoir work would be recontinued by re-mobilizing heavy equipment in the form of two excavators for dredging and making embankments," he explained.

He added, it would be used as a retention pond completed with embankment sheet pile, inspection roads and sluice gates for water management.

"After it is done, it is expected to anticipate flooding in RW 10 and 01, Semper Timur Urban Village," he stated.
