Rawa Malang Reservoir Construction Work in Cilincing Begins

We will finish it within 1.5 months or precisely in the upcoming December

The North Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency starts to develop the Rawa Malang Reservoir on a7.8-hectare land belongs to Jakarta SDA Agency in RW 10, Semper Timur, Cilincing.

Cilincing Sub-district Executing Unit Head Cahyono Budi Setiawan said, as the initial stage, the work begins with the construction of the reservoir boundary DAM. This reservoir is planned to have a shape like a shoe.

5 Pumps and 35 SDA Personnel Deployed to Handle Inundation in Cilincing

"We will finish it within 1.5 months or precisely in the upcoming December," he expressed, Tuesday (11/10).

He explained it aims to overcome inundation during the rainy season. The reservoir itself would have five meters depth with 1.5 meters height.

Besides being a flood control system, the reservoir also functions as a water storage to increase groundwater sources in the surrounding area. Then it is also designed to be one of the ecotourism spots in North Jakarta.

"People can travel, sports and other activities. Near the location, there is also Malang City Swamp Forest. So the facilities are more complete," he stated.
