Sekretaris Connecting Channel's Wall Being Repaired

Some 12 personnel of West Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency are seen repairing the 40-meter-long connecting channel wall of Sekretaris River on Jalan Budi Raya, Kebon Jeruk Urban Village.

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti said the repair focused on two sides of the canal wa lls, which are 20 meters each. The channel itself has 1.5 meters width with 2.20 meters depth.

"It is carried out, as the wall's cement had already collapsed," she expressed, Thursday (12/9).

Personnel were also repairing the land on the edge of the channel sheet pile for a mobile pump with 10,000 liters per second capacity.

To maximize it, a mobile pump unit had been placed at the location to suck water from the canal and dumped it into Secretary River to minimize flooding around the area.

"It has been ongoing since a week ago. It is estimated to be complete in mid-December," he stated.
