Water Channel on Jalan Cempaka Jaya Repaired

Cempaka Putih Water Resources (SDA) Unit, Central Jakarta repaired water channel on Jalan Cempaka Jaya, Gang K, RT 06/03, Cempaka Putih Timur Urban Village.

Channel is repaired along 300 meters because damage in some parts

Cempaka Putih Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Subandi mentioned, channel was normalized to ensure the water channel to flow well, especially when heavy rain falls in order to minimize inundation. This normalization work was carried out to follow up recess report of Jakarta Council (DPRD) members.

"Channel is repaired along 300 meters because damage in some parts. Its width is 40 centimeters with height 40 centimeters. The channel is immediately installed with U-ditch thus the work can be finished quickly," he said, Friday (12/3).

His side deployed 17 personnel from Cempaka Putih Sub-district SDA Unit from November 8. It was targeted to be completed in January 2022.

"Current progress has reached 65 meters," he added.

According to him, the normalization work will take a long time to be completed because his side should dismantle the old channel first. Besides, his side should clean thick mud sedimentation from the channel and install it with U-ditch.

"We have collected around 3 cubic meters mud from the channel. After repairing it, we hope residents will feel safer when rainy season arrives and the environment will also be cleaner," he conveyed.
