As volunteers, we'll do anything to lighten their burden

Jakarta Satpol PP's Community Protection Division Head, Atok Baroni Hidayat said, it was done, as the current situation of the village is still dangerous to live in and not conducive. They also supplied logistical aid for locals in the refugee camps.

"As volunteers, we'll do anything to lighten their burden. Alhamdulillah, we are always ready to help them, such as helping to evacuate their belongings to their destination," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Thursday (12/9).

Dina (22), one of Kajar Kuning Hamlet citizens, Sumberwuluh Village admitted, she was relieved when trucks from Jakarta arrived to evacuate her belongings at her home. She said, Sumberwuluh Village was known to be one of the places that was severely affected after being hit by hot clouds from avalanches and lava floods from Mount Semeru, making the location difficult for aid trucks to access.

"I want to leave the house furniture at my grandmother's house in Penanggal Village. I do this, because I'm still traumatized. Thank you for help me, I really need after a long wait in the queue," admitted a mother with one child who has lived in Kajar Kuning for six years.

She did not really want to leave her house but had to evacuate immediately for safety. "I've lived here for six years. I used to live with my parents-in-law. But, Alhamdulillah, I have money and build my own house, but now it's destroyed by this disaster. But thankfully my family members are all safe. Hopefully, the situation can return to normal as usual and can go home," she closed.
