Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan visited the international standard stadium, Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), on Saturday (12/11). The visit was aimed at testing the lighting and sound system of the stadium which has a green building certificate with a platinum level.

Previously, he explained, on these days, a JIS soft launch was supposed to be held, which was marked by the 2021 International Youth Championship (IYC) match.

"Unfortunately, we had to cancel it due to the outbreak of the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron," he explained.

Nevertheless, he asserted the JIS construction must continue, and it is demonstrated by the excellent quality of the lighting and sound systems. It was evident from the voice of the governor's speech to the trial music performance by Padi Band Vocalist, Andi Fadly Arifuddin.

"The postponement of 2021 IYC doesn't mean work has stopped, everything is going on. Tonight, we want to come and watch up close the lights that have been installed, the sound that has worked well. We give appreciation to all who work in this place," he added.

The appreciation was given, as JIS has consistently completed progress so well, where its construction had touched 87 percent. Hence, he was optimistic that it would run successfully.

"This is a gigantic work, involving so many people  where their work will be remembered throughout the history of the Jakarta city," he explained.

"This work is a concern not only for Jakarta people, but also for Indonesian citizens and the world, hopefully it will run smoothly, InsyaAllah, it will be completed," he stressed.
